Location and Boundaries
Mountain Creek is bounded by the Sunshine Motorway in the north, the Mooloolah River in the east, Kawana Way in the south, and Mooloolah River National Park, Mountain Creek Road, Hibiscus Retirement Resort, Karawatha Drive and the transmission line in the west.

Settlement History
Settlement of the area dates from the late 1800s, with land used mainly for timber-getting and farming. Significant residential development did not occur until the early 1980s. Substantial growth took place during the 1980s, particularly in the western section.

Rapid growth continued from the 1990s, with the population trebling between 1991 and 2011 as large numbers of new dwellings were added to the area.

Major features of the area include Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE (Mooloolaba Campus), Glenfields Neighbourhood Park, Karawatha Park, Loang Court Park, Mountain Creek Park Corridor, Parklea Esplanade Park, Parragundi Park, Pipi Place Park, Quota Hideaway Park, Sailfish Drive Park, Saratoga Drive Park and several schools.
